Welcome to The Crown Prosecution Service Talent Community
The Crown Prosecution Service is an independent organisation that prosecutes criminal cases investigated by police
and other bodies in England and Wales, independent of police and the government.

The CPS operates across England and Wales, with 14 regional teams prosecuting cases locally. Each of these 14 CPS
Areas is headed by a Chief Crown Prosecutor and works closely with local police forces and other criminal justice
partners.  Their main responsibilities include deciding which cases to prosecute, determining charges for complex
cases, advising police during investigations, presenting cases in court, and supporting victims and witnesses.
